In August 2014, ITS Rio held the Democracy and Technology Expert Meeting, a two-day immersion aiming at contributing and identifying trends for the debate and for practices that involved both democracy and technology. The experience contributed to a larger public engagement and it gathered together civil society, government, private sector, academia and financing institutions of the project. Besides being multi-sector, the event was also multicultural, as representatives came from Brazil, Chile, United States, Mexico and others.
