In this publication from Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Fabro Steibel, executive director at ITS Rio and Mario Viola, project coordinator at ITS Rio, write about civil society and other aspects of open data in Brazil.
The paper argues that Open Government Data (OGD) is largely supported by the government, the private sector and some civil society stakeholders in Brazil. However, the legal infrastructure for OGD in Brazil is not uniform, since the country does not possess any specific law for open data. Brazil also faces a series of limitations in terms of physical infrastructure.
