Revista Observatório Itaú Cultural No. 16 was edited by Ronaldo Lemos, director at ITS Rio. This edition comprised a series of authors from diverse fields to address current issues on technology, democracy and society, where the streets and the web blend together and online and offline merge. Privacy, copyright, freedom of expression, limits and possibilities of maker culture, conflicts on traditional and social media and the successes and failures of the promise of the “global village”. These issues are at the forefront of the debates within the field of society and technology.
