Report | All You Need to Know About Blockchain But You May Not Know Yet

Ever wondered what blockchain technology is or how it’s used? Consider that many of the services you use daily are either powered by blockchain or could benefit from it to boost security and transparency. Imagine discovering that numerous companies, including government agencies, are implementing this technology to deliver more efficient and reliable services.
Blockchain provides a secure, transparent platform that enables financial transactions or data exchanges without traditional intermediaries like banks. But its potential goes beyond finance—blockchain is poised to reshape sectors like healthcare, energy, logistics, commerce, public records, and even fashion.
Supported by Ripple, the Institute for Technology and Society (ITS Rio) has launched a free digital guide to inform the public about blockchain. The first in a series of three, this report examines how blockchain can foster inclusion, strengthen transaction security, and simplify regulatory processes. Through case studies, regulatory analysis, and dialogues with key stakeholders, it aims to demystify blockchain and highlight its far-reaching applications beyond financial transactions.
